The Web module is a great way to bring external web content into the app. The external web site should be mobile-responsive, that is it should adjust its content when viewed on a mobile screen.

The steps to create the module are shown in the video below:

  1. Click the "+Module" button

  2. Select a Web module

  3. Give it a name (this is show on the title bar in the app)

  4. Enter the URL of the web page that should be shown

  5. Save

If you have a mobile-responsive website, it can be tempting to put a lot of web modules in your app. This should be avoided as:

  • Users expect concise, quick information from an app

  • Web content from desktop web sites can take a long time to load

  • When desktop web pages are shown on mobile just getting past the header can take two pages of scrolling -- getting to the content the user wants can be another 10 pages of scrolling

For content such as information on your centres, their facilities, opening hours, your swimming programs, your gym, your personal trainers, training tips, nutrition, etc. you should use an Info module.

For News you should use a News module.

Info and News modules benefit from Social Sharing. Content from News and Info modules can also be syndicated onto your website, kiosks and in-gym displays -- see Content Syndication for more.
